Pretty awesome game. The beginning half of the game puts you into scenes outlining what happened in FOTR so you're immersed into action right from the beginning from fighting off the Ring Wraiths to save Frodo, to the battles with the orcs in Balin's Tomb. But what is really cool is that it'll seeminglessly blend from gameplay into cut scenes directly from the movie. You're also treated with interviews, artworks, and a lot of cutscenes from the two towers. Aside from that, you can't go wrong busting on 20 or so orcs on screen at once :) I beat the game in one night and I have very little patience for video games so that shows you how much action this game has.

ok, so riddle me this - what is the "trick" to executing the parry-link moves after you purchase them?

I've been having fun playing slowly through the game on the medium difficulty - there is some two towers footage in there that hasn't been seen elsewhere yet.

oh, and for Kami - Christopher Lee confirmed that he is in all three movies, as is Brad Dourif

you mean the combo moves? you need to tap them quick. dont wait until he executes the move then tap the next button in sequence. quickly tap them out. i beat it w/ aragorn and i'm at the bonus stage where i have to fight through 20 levels of orthanc tower. after that there's 2 more secret stage i believe. this game feels more like a preview disc since there's so much emphasis on cut scenes and behind the scenes stuff for TTT.

I don't have a PS2, just an Xbox. :(

BUT! The game is coming out for XBox...sometime before the end of the year too apparently! They announced this about a week or two ago.

I've seen gameplay footage and it looks cool.

isildur, yep I knew that :D Good news eh?

:D

yeah, but one of the new shots is of the 3 big guys in pursuit as they enter fangorn and, in the game, they have a rare awkward cut where they interject a shot of their faces from the trailer as they are about to confront "Saruman"/Gandalf and I was all like, "hey wait! that's from a different scene you bastards!"

Sweet. I'll get the GameCube version. :)

All these games ported to X-Box also get ported to GameCube. I see less and less reasons to get an X-Box, although I might get it eventually rather than getting a DVD player.

jeeze, whata dolt - those moves aren't all that hard to do, I don't know what my prob was. They are invaluable too, since all the other guys just stand there and watch while you dispatch their buddies with it - definitely useful on those crowded tower levels.

I was going to get this game today. Does anyone know if it has co-op like in Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance? And is Gandalf an unlockable character?
