There are some indentical pairs. Also, my Radeon 9700 pro is connected to one end of a cable, with the other on the HD and the last one nowhere. From the power supply there are a few cables, can I just connect the radeon 9700 cable to those?

with most power supplies it doesn't matter how you hook things up. cheaper supplies, all the cables are fed off the same rails, and more expensive ones have dedicated rails that aren't likely to be overloaded.

It doesn't matter what you connect where...unless your PSU has some type of fan only connectors. Those are for FANS ONLY! Plugging other stuff into those is classified as a bad thing (accidently did it once to a hard drive...trust me, you don't want to do it :) )
