Wow. All ten are in port doing maintenance right now. How do gaps like this happen?

Granted we probably have USS Wasp carriers deployed right now, which with the F35b have gained a significant amount of capability.

well she was not a fan of asian food before she joined the navy, now she loves it. a few weeks ago i had lunch at Panda Express and sent her a pic via facebook. the response i got was epic. she has like 4 Ramen joints a block a way.

Think of super carriers more of a geopolitical tool nowadays than a weapon of war (which they still are).

It's because we've been beating the shit out of the carrier force for more than a decade now. If you were to ask the navy the ideal number would be 14-15 but the current defense budget doesn't allow for a force of that size.
