So 2 days ago, my wife's computer (custom built all of our own computers) started crashing.

She's running Win 7 x64 and avast anti-virus.

The first BSOD was: IRQL_not_less_or_equal. I did a system restore to the day prior and it was fine.

Then the next day, we got the same BSOD and I did a system restore back to the 7th of Dec.

As far as I know, all the drivers are updated as well. She installed Win7 about 3 weeks ago w/o any issues from then until 2 days ago.

I then updated the BIOS (ASUS LGA775 P5Q). Still getting BSOD, but 3 different ones:

IRQL_not_less_or_equal
Driver_IRQL_not_less_or_equal
USBPORT.sys

Now, I've done a few hours of research and people are saying that this could be a PSU dying. It is older, since it's from her first build and we've just upgraded other pieces in the last 3-4 years.

Oh, also, we have since disabled the USB ports in the BIOS and it has crashed while in safemode as well.

Inside the Event Viewer, we're seeing a few instances of "Kernel Poker, Event 41".

I am not sure what other info you guys might need, but if you have some input or feedback we'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

eta: Also ran Windows memtest and it passed w/o any problems.

Lastly, her rig is NOT OC'd.

Alright, so I was trying to run "WhoCrashed", but before I could even get it running got another BSoD, this time showing that "elbycdio.sys" was what crashed. That is apparently linked to an Elaborate Bytes program, which she has installed. Going to reboot and try again, if I get it again I'll uninstall the software.

Alright, so got the "elbycdio.sys" error again and uninstalled all Elaborate Bytes programs in Safe Mode and rebooted. Immediately after booting into Windows, got a BSoD that didn't say ANYTHING about what crashed except "0x000000C9" at the bottom. After this, attempted to reboot. After the BIOS screen it said "bootmgr image is corrupt. Cannot boot." Right after BIOS screen, but before I got the option to boot in Safe Mode, etc.

Then shut down and unplugged for about 2 minutes, attempted to reboot but it's now sticking on the BIOS screen. It's beeping for the POST, but it's not moving past the BIOS screen.

*rips hair out*

After leaving unplugged for 5 minutes...

Now no power is going to monitors. It's not beeping for POST. The fans start up and the light for the computer is on, but no idea what's going on because the monitors aren't getting any power.

Oh, and we don't have a Windows 7 disc. We bought the upgrade version via download, so we can't just pop the disc in and do a repair.

For now, clear the BIOS and try a different power supply.
