Hazard: Under certain operating conditions, particularly when the batteries are near the end of charge, some Segway HTs may not deliver enough power, allowing the rider to fall. This can happen if the rider speeds up abruptly, encounters an obstacle, or continues to ride after receiving a low-battery alert.

So now, instead of continuing to operate when the batteries get low so that you might be able to get home/to safety/wherever, the software will now shut the thing down if you get a low battery alarm.
The American Way: someone sues for making a useful product, the solution is to make it less useful.

Quick fix? I say have a power meter, give them about a minute just before the battery goes kaput. If this is the cause for a recall, then you should recall all cars, bikes, and just about everything else that moves, or requires momentum to operate properly. Just like the idiot that runs out of gas in his car, how the fcuk do you run out of gas?

Actually no, i'm an independent and the candidates party does not matter to me. However, I think Bush has done quite well over his presidential term so far. And i think it shows since the only thing you guys have to make fun of him is the segway (stupid to even bring it up as if you guys haven't fallen before) and him sticking his foot in his mouth a few times (you've never done this?)
Give me a break, go back to the Clinton jokes/humor. They were much more entertaining.

so let's see, your Segway alerts you your battery is dying but you ignore it....you crash, now you want compensation....
You drive your Segway off a 3' drop by mistake, or crash into a pedestrian and you want to sue....I wish I knew this learning to ride BMX, Mountain Bike, Skateboard, etc.
