all posts being displayed in one page?

when I click on a topic which has lot of posts, it displays ALL of them in one page and hoses up my computer. there is no next page option. I checked profile, its set to display 40 per page. Any idea why?

there are two different settings
Posts/page and threads/forum.

If you have all the posts being shown for that thread on the screen, then there is no need for a next page option.

Try to set your posts/page value to somthing different and then see what happens.

nop both set to 20 (previously set to 40) still nothing
