My desktop icons are all distorted. But web pages are ok. I'm thinking that it's my video card. Anyone else have an idea of what's wrong?

Thanks.

just push the PRT SCR button (above your delete key).

Open microsft paint.

Paste.

File --> Save as...

Give it a name, save it as a .JPG

Go to imageshack, choose choose

Find your picture

Click the "host it" button.

Provide us the link given to you at the bottom of the page. (either Show image to friends or Direct link to image will be fine)

Wow. Those indeed, look quite messed up.

Try this.

Download TweakUI

Install it.

Open it (start menu). Go to the repair menu (very bottom). Select "Rebuild Icons" and hit Repair Now.

Thanks. That worked.

However...there is also a bigger problem. When I play games, the screen does the same thing...it gets all messed up on a larger scale like one of those icons as full screen.
Is there a bigger issue, or did that take care of that.

Usually, a reboot would take care of everything.

Thanks again.

I'm going to diagnose this as "broken video card"

If you have any others, try swapping them out and see if it improves at all :)

If it does, Replace or RMA if it's still under warranty.

May want to wait for somebody else's opinion though

Thanks. I changed out the fan heatsink to the Zalman one...I probably voided the warranty.
