All laptop internal sata made equal?

aspire a15 8250u with mx150, well today i got around to trying to install a sata ssd... well there is a big HD spot but no cable, so i went to ebay and purchased one. Are they all the same? looks pretty standard and see many diff ones for sale. hoping its just plug play, prob need the sata caddy too (or tape it in)

Are not SATA SSD connectors the same as SATA HDD connectors? In my laptop they are directly interchangeable using the same caddy.

Sigh.. the cable looks like a usb c header its not a sataplug it uses power and data in a metal connector.. obviously you are not looking at where the cable is plugged to

No, my laptop simply has a connector for the HDD or SSd - no cable is visible. (Lenovo)

/eye roll.. yea i cant see the cables either i had to open the laptop up! hahahahah thnx for the laughs. (i even posted a photo so you would be less confused but i guess ill just find out when it gets here)

Every laptop I have, has the SATA hard drive/ssd connector attached to the main board, and you just pull it out/push it back in.

It is likely a proprietary connector cable to the laptop motherboard.

Was working on an HP a couple months ago that had the same cable. And I do remember a laptop from a few years before that having the same (compared to those that have the connectors built into the laptop). I don't forsee you having a problem finding one of those that would fit directly.
