Ok, now that we know King George was wrong about WMD, What is going to happen to Sadam? Where is he anyway? Will he get a chance to voice his opinion?

I don't understand why the US thinks they can put people on trial who were not in the United States and therefore did not violate any US laws.Did Saddamn violate any Iraqi laws? We don't have a right to hold everyone in the world up to obeying our US laws.
They should let Saddamn and Manuel Noriega go I guess.

"all kidding aside," yet you preface with "King George." According to the kids around here, you, sir, are a troll.

JohnGalt calling people trolls... how horribly ironic.

I imagine a trial will begin at some point in late summer. I also imagine that while the trial, itself, will not be public, a great deal of reports about revelations made within it will appear in the press on a daily basis.

If I were facing a re-election campaign and were going through a crisis where the entire war against Iraq was being questioned, I'd want to capitalize on what can be presented as being a "success" of the war efforts by having it reported in the news, each and every day leading up to the election, how "evil" the leader of that country was. This, presumably, would help to appeal to those who will either forget or disregard what the stated reasons for the war were and see it purely in terms of "good vs. evil," where "good" is "us and those like us" and "evil" is "the other."

as I said, by the standards of the kiddies here. I have no problem with his thread, just point out the "all kidding aside" and the "King George" reference.

Perhaps we can make Saddam a consultant over at Langley? Certainly would kick our ME intel up a notch. Damn, it sure needs it too, we have no f'ing idea what's going on over there...

He is the responsibility of the Iraqi people and their justice system (no matter what the bleeding hearts want)

If we do anything regarding the trial procedures, it will not instill any trust in the process.

Hmmmm, is there any way you could blame Kerry too? Give it a shot.

Huh, I guess I really don't know what a troll is. I'll do a google search and learn something I guess. I'm sorry if I broke the rules here. This is a great forum and I don't want to mess things up. Can someone please tell me what exactly is considered trolling?

Sorry again folks!!!

This is exactly my concern also. Knowing we screwed the pooch on this, I'm afraid of any further involvement with Sadam's future. I say it's up to the people of Iraq, and if they want help, ask the UN. I'm afraid this guy is going to be a Martyr because of what we have done so far...

A troll is someone like us; people who post things that others don't want to hear. When I use a 'catchy' title, which I was told to 'spruce' up a bit, I am a troll...when I post stuff about Kerry, I am a troll. You are probably safer, as this thread is about Bush...just be careful out there, sir :)

I hope they try him in an Iraqi court. American courts have become a joke and he'd probably walk on some technicality.

You forgot, anyone who does not bash Bush is a neo-con

<---labeled a Neo-Con even though he probably won't vote for Bush

Is Bush = evil, a nazi and the anti-christ the "official" democratic platform this year?

Of course, one could argue that once we'd invaded and occupied Iraq, the country became subject to US laws, and there's certainly no statute of limitations on mass-murder and the like...

Or you could just say that we have big guns and they happen to be stationed outside Saddam's cell right now...

But anyway, you're right - the US has no right to impose its laws on the rest of the world. That doesn't change the fact that we are occupying Iraq and have captured Saddam, so from my point of view... here's to hoping that Saddam gets released into an Iraqi judicial system sooner rather than later. I doubt he would long survive that, but at least it would be Iraqis taking care of their own problem, right?

And how convenient that anyone who bashes Bush is a traitor. It's all so tidy when people are compartmentalized.

The problem with your statement is that people here aren't being called traitors....but yet every other post is calling someone a neo-con.
