damn, this movie is gonna be awesome to watch for its cast ALONE. screw the plot! just fight!

fight scenes suck if they're just a bunch of ropes and special effects, i have a feeling this movie's fight scenes aren't going to be that great.

Anyone have the trailer saved? It's not viewing on my computer for some reason.

I'm currently downloading the trailer now. You have a site I can upload it to? or mayble e-mail? Which version you want? Real/Asf, English, Cantonese?

Wow, i think thats gotta be the first jet-li movie that i think i'm not interested in. It just seems like there's going to be too much rope and special effects used for the fight scenes =\. I'll still prolly go see it, that trailer reminds me of Zu Warriors (terrible movie, i urge you to never watch this movie). Well actually it seems to actually have a plot unlike zu warriors

Just curious Dragoon42, have you seen Jet Li's Swordsman 2? That guy is a god with a sword in his hand; even with his feet planted firmly on the ground.

Donnie Yen is the freaking man.

Yes! I'm thrilled someone else knows who Donnie Yen is.

Dragoon42, I seriously doubt the fight scenes would come out like Zu Warriors (what a piece of crap..) or even Storm Riders.

Donnie Yen and Jet Li are both amazing at using weapons in a fight scene. Whereas Jet is graceful, balanced and fast; Donnie is pumped, orthodoxed and powerful.

Some film examples for Donnie using a weapon include: (most of the weapons and movement he uses are conceived by himself)

- Butterfly and Sword: his character uses a rapier-like weapon but with a chinese swordplay style integrated with a fencing thrust (Tony Leung is in this movie too)
- Highlander IV Endgame: his character Jin against Adrian (not sure of name) where he is using a spear against a katana
- Blade 2 : remember seeing Wesley Snipes twirling his sword around his hand to block Nissa from attacking; signature Donnie Yen style
- Fist of Legend: Donnie with nunchakus.... holy cow he's fast with them (there is some fast forwarding tho ) but he can twirl them around his shoulders and back plus twirl them between individual fingers!!!

And lets not forget what many fans are waiting for in the battle of Jet vs Donnie in "Once upon a Time in China II" with the Shaolin staff; and also his self-conceived rod of cloth, which is a wet cloth that can take form of a rod when twirled fast enough.

My apologies if you seen/heard about these movies and the examples seem redundant. The point is, these martial arts/actor have so much skill with a weapon that not many directors have fully exploited the potential of using this often. For one, it's not easy that's for sure.

Anyone remember the demo scenes from Soul Calibur? Especially that one of Kilik using his rod? 'nuff said

P.S. How do you guys quote like that? How it says, originally posted by... just curious

The talks and rumours were flying around summer of 2001 including those of a Jet Li and Jackie Chan collaborated project also.

Here's a blurb from MonkeyPeaches:
Tianjin Daily has reported how HERO will be promoted in China - a news conference in Beijing (December); signing deals with theater chains to make sure HERO being release on December 19th; premières in Beijing (December 14th), Shanghai (December 16th) and Guangzhou (December 17th); showing a 20-minute clips at SONY Stores; showing commercials (15 seconds and 30 seconds) on TV (early December); showing trailer at theaters (soon); and publishing a same name novel (December).
HERO's seven day run has ended on October 30th and New Image, the film's distributor, has declared victory over piracy. According to Nanfang Daily and Beijing Youth, during the seven days, someone has shown at the backdoor of the theater at three o'clock in the morning, roof of the theater has been moved, and the employees escorting the film have been followed in the street. Even though, New Image claims the pirates have failed to obtain a camcorded version of HERO.

Donnie Yen was in Fist of Legend? W/ Jet Li? Or was this yet another Fist of Legend?

I was thoroughly pissed when he was killed off in Blade 2 - why did they even bother getting him on the cast to just have him walk around and then die!

I've always liked Donnie Yen. I hope he gets meaningful roles in movies in the U.S. Right now he's doing some directing.

Maggie Cheung is over 40 you know!!??

I don't think he was...in fact, I don't remember nunchakus being used in that at all.

She's 38, 1 year older than Liz Hurley. Hence, I have no problem tapping that.

Sorry, it was called "Fist of Fury". It was a chapter tv series in Hong Kong; same background and storyline; like homage to Bruce Lee's Chinese Connection.

Which reminds me, Donnie Yen is currently the best imitator of the legend IMO.
