I'm basically looking to get the last component I will ever upgrade on this PC besides maybe the soundcard. I currently have a 9800pro 256mb that i'll dump into my parents computer. I like the AIW functionality, but what I want to know is Is this the last of the AGP giants?

OK, well, on a less pedantic note (yes, the X850s are a couple percent faster than the X800s...), it's not clear if any high-end cards of the R5XX/NV5X generation will be made in an AGP form factor. Neither ATI nor NVIDIA has been particularly forthcoming on this topic, probably because they want people to buy new PCIe graphics cards.

yeah it seems pretty obvious that they will push the new format since it requires more people to dump money into the industry....looks like the AIW is the way to go since the few % isnt worth the loss of MEDIA ability.

with the AIW do I run the cable from the wall into my card and then from the card into the tv?

Yes. Plug the RCA/S-Video/Component/DVI out from the card into your TV. This will display whatever is on that monitor output (which can be, among other things, whatever your primary display is showing) on your TV. If you do not want the TV to be your only display, you will need to enable multiple monitors in the ATI control panels.

Can both of those adapters be plugged in at the same time then?
