all in wonder to tv??? Please HELP!!!

I have a ati 8500 all in wonder dv and i have it hooked to my tv. For some reason it will display my desktop fine but for some reason when i try to watch windows media player the picture for the video turns black. Does anybody know what is wrong or what i should try??? The video plays on the computer monitor but when you try to view it on the tv it just shows a black space where the video should be. Somebody please help
 
I assume you are using it like a spanned desktop and dragging the media player window to the "tv" screen. Usually doesn't work when I have tried it that way. Only was I got it working was to not have it spanned and switch between Computer and TV, or set the TV as the primary display.

its called video overlay. the way in which the dual monitors are setup only the primary monitor cando video overlay, and by default the only one to do video at all..... try making the tv your primary monitor and restarting, or mirror the monitor...
