All in wonder, or what?

The various combinations of letters, numbers, etc. is driving me slowly nuts with video cards. At this point I understand it all well enough to know I want at least 32 MB of DDR memory, really like the feature set of the All in wonder boards (the Guide and Tivo-like record and time shifting), but the mediocre game performance and $200+ price tag has me holding off. Do any other cards support this level of neat stuff on the TV?

How bad is the actual game play with the All in Wonder?

Should I buy a cheap card for now ($100 Geforce2 MX or Radeon LE or VE) and buy a much better card after Comdex in the fall?(sheesh, maybe I should go to stinkin Comdex, since that was the best prices of the year). Should I just live with my old Voodoo3 2000 PCI card for awhile?
 
I have the AIW and it does not have your so called mediocre game performance. it's got the Radeon core at 166 and 166 mem DDR. That's plenty fast for current games. Quake 3 looks awesome, UT runs very fast w/compressed textures, serious sam love radeons... all in Win2K. A problem is that Aliens vs Predator does like the radeon... well mine anyway. I think it's a decent card, the radeon core is the best at DVD... its got s-video input... i wish it at component though (PS2). Anyway it's a good card, the only reason i bought mine is cuz i paid around $150 US for it and at the time is was around $300 US. 🙂
 
sorry didn't read that you got a voodoo3... it'll blow that card to peices with some nifty video stuff to boot. btw, all my games run at 1024x768+ resolutions. if your wondering Quake 3 runs around 24-26 FPS at 1600x1200... at 1024x768 it runs 60+ FPS... max details. peace out.
 
Something that isn't clear is how the DVD playback is handled, is the sound running through the AIW or through a sound card? Point of confusion is the mention of Dolby Digital sound output as part of the AIW features.
