Right now I have a 9800 Pro 256mb version.

I'm looking to get an all-in-wonder card to record/watch tv. I have an older computer into which I'll dump my 9800 pro when I do this (1900xp+ which has been hampered by a GF3Ti200) so its not too big of a crime, BUT anyways, I really want to get that AIW functionality.

I play W3X and will get WoW and have HL2. I play at 1280x1024 on a Samsung 172T.

Would you guys recommend a 9600XT AIW, 9800pro AIW, or just that I save up some cash and wait for the X800 AIW? This card will basically have to last 2 years.

I don't know anything about NV's solutions, but you better get the X AIW. Think of how old the 9800PAIW will be in two years. The way it is, the new mid-range cards (6600GT) beat it pretty good. Or you could always just pick up a straight TV tuner card. I have a 440 Personal Cinema (obviously don't game on it) and a 9800 Pro OC'd to XT+ and a seperate TV WOnder card. They both have the same functionality, except one rig also plays games!

What would you guys say about getting an AGP 6600GT and then a separate ATI TV Wonder? Would mixing the ATI and the Nvidia be a problem? This option would save me a good amount of money and allow me to upgrade sooner than if I were to purchase the X800XT AIW
