Im wanting to get a
ati 9600 pro all in wonder but it doesnt have a DVI connection.

I am also getting an LCD monitor with a DVI connection and would like to use the DVI for better quality of picture...
If I use a DVI to VGA adapter so I can connect to my video card will i lose video quality?

also how is 9600 on gaming?

Yes you will loose quality, so if can try find a AIW 9700 pro.

THe performance will be the same as a regular 9600 Pro

Im pretty sure you can acutlly configure an analog connection to look BETTER than DVI its just a bit more work.

Whoa, that's an oversight. My bro's 9700 Pro with an 800Mhz slower processor performs way better in games then my 2.2GHz Athlon XP with a 9600 Pro.

But to answer the original question only the "Pro" AIWs have DVI.

I think he meant an AIW 9600 Pro and a regular 9600 Pro have the same performance. I think its pretty obvious the 9700 pro is faster than a 9600 pro.

Sorry, but that's misfounded. Being a digital display medium, LCDs benefit greatly from a digital feed.

And in case you're wondering, I do have a canned response to "Analog can reproduce the full range of colours better" - so save us both the post. ;)
