All in Wonder 9000

I just bought this card a couple of days ago and I plan on using it with my HDTV but I`m not sure how to get the resolution to match. I know the 9700, 9800, and the new 9600 AIW cards all support 1080i/720p out of the box, I just don`t want spend $270 or so when I can make a cheaper card work.
I`ve seen other setups where they used Svideo and it looked terrible. I bought a DVI to Component adapter to match my TV`s input but I think it will only work if the resolution matches. It`s a 60 inch widescreen but I can change the aspect ratio through the menu.
Has anyone else used their TV as the main display? I`m just worried the small text will look all blurry.

Nintari's got some useful info here. . .

I have the same card, and plan on doing the same thing. No HDTV yet, that's still a future purchase, my box is almost complete, tho'. 😀

If I find out any helpful info. I'll be sure to post here.

Also, which DVI to Component adapter did you purchase? I have a thread right now wondering about this exact question. As far as I could tell, there are two choices, one for the AIW 8500 & 8500 DV then the other for 9700 and 9500 series cards.

I have the adapter made for the 9700....I think. My cousin sold it to me and I haven`t used it yet. I hope it works, I didn`t know there were different versions for each card when I bought it.

Another thing you can do, and I know this works, is buy a VGA/DVI to YPrPb converter. They`re kinda expensive, 110 to 200 bucks, but the picture is really nice. It upconverts the incoming image to 480p/720p/1080i. Digital Conection has them for 120.

Here is some good info. I was thinking they had thread stickied about power strip. Do a search for power strip.

Found it I forgot where I saw it. Try this one Check out the power strip thread stickied to the top.
