has anyone heard of this? i have an hp psc750. everything was working fine, then today i went to scan something, the lamp got half way across the bed, then died. it wont move. However the printer still works, indiating the power cable and data cables are still good. Also, when i turn it off then on, the lamp moves abou half an inch to the left, so i figured if i did that enough times it would hit a sensor on the left that would send it back to the right (where it docs)

this didn't work, as now when i turn off then on, it goes EEEHHHHHHHHHHHHKKKKKK cause it is as far as it can go.

i was just wondering if this was common, unheard of, or just any thoughs on the matter

thanks
david

Just to go through the basic troubleshooting steps:

1) Is anything stuck inside that's causing the lamp not to go all the way? That sound is scary 😱 and might suggest something's blocking the path.

2) Can you retrace your steps up to the time that you were having the problem? You might have been printing or copying something and the printer got messed up or something?

Good luck. 🙂
