Per title. My trusty old Canon MX870 seems to be on it's last leg ... it no longer prints color, tho black is fine. I suspect the issue is the generic ink carts I've been buying. I could go get a set of Canon inks and see if that fixes things but if it doesn't I've got $60 in ink I can't use. As an alternative, wirecutter recommends the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 that's only $150. Tempting, but a set of ink carts is $150 (!) if you get the large, which seems kinda crazy. So, any thoughts or recommendations out there? I've been a Canon printer guy for a long time, kind of hate to switch, but am willing to if something else is really better.

You could look at the Canon Megatank series. I have a G3200 and the amount of ink that it holds is astounding. If you're in the US, you can probably find one for around $180. I paid around $300 CAD for mine, two years ago.

I'm partial to Brother monochrome lasers, don't print enough color to pay extra or put up with ink hassles.

I wonder if Canon MX922 any good? I saw one for $20 buck real cheap.
Thank you very much
