I was thinking of getting the Gateway 21? Widescreen FPD2185W Monitor. Could this be used for an all in one solution?
Obviously it works on the PC, how about using it as a TV and also connecting my Xbox?

So I want
PC
TV (I have DirecTV and Standard Cable)
Video Game Console. (Xbox at the moment)

I want to save space in my room instead of having both the LCD monitor and also a regular TV.

I have had my xbox and other consoles plugged into my 2000fp without issue

I usually play it with PIP and not full screen though

not sure how it would be full screen

ah, sorry. i didn't look closely.

the dell 2001fp is very nice, but it doesn't have a built-in tv tuner. you can always buy a pci tv tuner card though.

Don't like PC TV tuner cards.

Can't I connect my Satellite box using RCA inputs?

We use the FPD2185W at my dad's house. It's sweet. I have dual HD TV tuners and a 7800GT. Couldn't be happoer.

does he use it only for his computer or also for watching TV? What does he have connected to it if so.

My step-mom uses the machine for recording shows and my dad and I use it for watching TV when she's hogging the plasma. He only uses the machine and monitor for ebay.

TV playback is nice as long as you have a good HD tuner. As for gaming, it's MUCH better than my 19" Gateway. There is very little bleeding or color distortion.

So basically, TV watching, normal use, and gaming. All we have is a DVI connection from the 7800GT.

I would definately give it a thumbs up!
