Forget "partition magic".The best way to set up your new Hard drive,
is to:
Boot the Pc to a start-up floppy.
Run FDISK.
Select "change current fixed drive"(if it's a 2nd drive)
If it's the only drive, select "create primary Dos partition".
Select "yes" to enable large disk support.
FDISK then asks you to input a size for your primary Dos
partition.(In MB or %)eg.5000=5Gb,or 30%.
If you do split the drive up into more than 1 partition, then
you must create extended Dos partitions.
Format them all separately using the switches /u/s when doing
the C: drive only.
Eg format c:/u/s
format d:
format e:
etc.
Start computer with Cdrom support.
Run Setup.exe from Windows Cdrom.
Eg F:setup<return> (where F is your Cdrom drive letter)
N.B
The first version of Windows 95 doesn't recognise FAT 32).
Windows 98 does support large drives.
