Well I'm coming up short on ideas of stuff I want for Christmas as my girlfriend, and parents have continually asked me and I don't know. (they aren't big on purchasing gift cards).

I'm just looking for some unique ideas of good presents that actually get a decent amount of use and isn't computer hardware.

ps I didn't see this posted, my bad if it already has

For some reason, there's not a single thing I want.

Actually, there's a robotic toy called the UGobe Pleo that I think is really cool, but that's partially just because I find robotics to amazing - http://ugobe.com/

Once it comes down in price a little, I'm probably going to grab it.

from your gf :A sex pass, when you cash it, she has to drop whatever she is doing to have sex with you.
parents: get out of the house card, you use that card before you give your gf the sex pass so they are out of the house and you don't have to hide in the basement.

I'm gonna get my mom a pearl necklace. I'm taking my dad clothes shopping because he's got nothing but sweaters that were fashionable in the 70s. My sister and I typically go shopping together, for ourselves, so that we just give ourselves gifts.

I'm thinking of getting my ex-gf a very nice dress and two opera tickets, and tell her she doesn't have to take me. I miss that girl a lot.

Most of my friends will get drugs or things in which drugs are placed.

For myself I want true love and a few days off work.

edit:

woops i thought this was about what to get others. I just got a Zune 80 for myself and it is very nice. I've never had an iPod or anything though. I'd recommend it.

If it wasnt for the interwebs, I wouldn't be laughing at that one so much right now.

Is this a bad gift? I thought she'd like it. I have spent 4 years in college getting them nothing, I figured I'd go all out now that I'm a paid member of the real world.

Yes, I already got her one...

Anyho - tools. One can never have too many tools

For me, its a 22" monitor, a new power drill to replace and old one, a new jig saw to replace the one with a burned out motor and a leatherman

Cooking knives
food processor
new mobo, processor, ram
another monitor
ecu chip

any of the above would do nicely.

Surefire flashlight (infinitely superior to any POS with the Mag-Lite name on the side)

Satellite radio with a service plan (like a month or quarterly or something)

I've been on a tool kick these past few months.

Got a decent battery powered Ryobi 18v set for $30 (drill, flashlight, saw, radio).
Been picking up a bunch of electrical tools (crimpers (RJ-45, coax, regular electrical), snips, strippers (large and small guage), testers).
Channel locks, vice grips, metric and standard socket sets.
Drill bits.

Which is actually unnecessary considering I could borrow almost any residential tool in existence from my father. But it feels good to have your own set and just be able to grab something out of the closet.
