All Hoorahs to Zalman Coolers

I built this system and from day one, I have been having unreasonably high vid card temps.
At even a mild OC, it would push temps into the 90'C range. During benches, it would approach 96'C. Too High!
I since then, installed a Zalman VF700Cu to the 6600, and Man O Man, it's wonderful!
There is the possibility that the old hs/fan was improperly installed, or I might have bumped it when I put it in the first time...I am not without faults.
But my overall case temps fell 6'C, and the 6600 now idles at 36'C, 12'C Lower than before.
When running CS:S for an hour, the highest recorded temp was 66'C, a full 20'C lower than before. This is monitored by RivaTuner which has a real time monitor that logs my temps.
Definately worth the $43.00 I spent on cooler and Artic silver.
Now, It's time to turn this puppy up, and see what she can do.........

The heatsink looks heavy though. I perfer arctic cooling silencer if you lack airflow at the bottom of the case like i do.

wouldn't you have rather bought a 6600GT for the same price instead of the 6600 and the Zalman HS?

Edit: didn't look at sig., oops.

yeah that vf700 is awesome. i have one on my 6800gt but i wish i could use another on a 6600gt agp.

their 7000 hsf is just as nice.

VGA Silencers are best for OCing or where exhausting heat would help greatly. Zalman HSFs are quiet and good quality though.
