Well just like I can find myself a Queen to shag up with, you can find yourself a friend with a gmail account. 🙂

I wish that would happen (though not so much anymore since I already signed up for GMail). Hotmail has done a good job against spam... unlike Yahoo.

Just because you don't understand the process doesn't mean it's stupid. It's an excellent way of gradually increasing usage of the system so they can monitor performance as the number of users increase. They give out X number of invites and can dynamically increase the number of users by a simple setting that activates more invites. It would be more messy to have a whole signup process where millions of people signup from which google employees would have to sort through to give invites. With their current signup process the end users do all the grunt work and their happy to do it.

Google should set their scanner thing to pick up "fvck gmail" and then all of us who don't like the idea of e-mails be scanned can e-mail our friends who use gmail and say "fvck gmail, get a new e-mail address or you won't get any more e-mail from me."

yes, the process is a little silly. But they are looking for gradual growth to test servers probably.

But if that's the case, why not just add 30 more beta testers every day or something... they have a giagantic list of ppl who signed up.
