All Games crash after about 30 minutes of game play.

I'm running a 2.53 Intel CPU with a GeForce 4 4600, XP Home, 1 gig of RAM DDR 400, a 80 gig hard drive with 8 meg of cache and a SB Audigy Gamer 5.1 . I'll load Never Winter Nights for example play for 30 minutes and then get nwn.exe has caused an error in something. I'll run Norton System works and find 2 bad registry entrees where there were none before. It doesn?t matter the game. I have replaced the RAM, replaced the motherboard because of different issues and just formatted and reinstalled. THE CPU runs at 55 to 57 degrees at 100% usage. I?m thinking video card may be getting to hot, ideas?

Temps are higher than usual for the cpu. Have you tried another heatsink or clean off the heatsink and applied artic silver. Also, did you download the latest drivers for the Audigy?

Unless you're overclocking the video card, I doubt the video card is overheating unless the video card fan failed etc.

Also, run the machine with the case open? Does it still crash? If not you have a tempurature problem. Are the case fans running? Do you have fans in the front bottom sucking air in and fans in the back on top blowing air out?

I just regreased the heatsink with the CPU today.
It still crashes with the case open. I see no difference in CPU temp either way. I have 2 fans blowing out on the back and one fan blowing in on the side with a large vent opening on the front of the case.

The video FAN is running and the CPU fan is running.

What should the temps be for the P4?

My temps for Pent IV 2.2 OC to 2.4 is below 40 under a full load.

Any chance you can try the onboard sound?

I just switched from on board sound and cut my temp by 3 degrees, no crash so far. We'll see. For some reason it was on in the bios settings.
