All Canadians report to this thread, I repeat, all Canadians report to this thread

I'm trying to make some Kraft macaroni and cheese (I believe it's known as "Kraft Dinner" to Canadians) but I don't have any milk. Wat do? :|

edit: I do have butter. Could I add lots of butter as a substitute for the milk?

Just add Butter/Margarine(approx 1 table spoon) then add the cheese. I never do the milk, in fact I often don't even do the margarine. Makes it harder to mix in the cheese and you won't get a sauce, but it works in a pinch.

I also like to add a bunch of black pepper and 1-2 table spoons of ketchup. Carrots, broccoli, or spinach also make it better.

I never use milk, only about a tablespoon of butter. I prefer the cheese powder to be stuck to the noodles and not part of a watery mess.

Even though you're an asshole, I'll give you some advice:

First off, forget the milk; it'll completely spoil the flavor.
Use margarine, not butter. It has less fat and tastes better overall.

Once it's cooked and you remove the water, add two tablespoons of margarine. Make sure the stove is set to very low, and mix the margarine in for around 10 seconds. After that, add the cheese mix. If you find the mix is too dense, add a bit more of margarine. After you mix that, add a bit of shredded cheese to it, then serve.

Water is fine. I always just add water. I live alone, if I kept milk it would go bad before I could use all of it. I have to compromise with these things. 😉

Waaaait, you mean there's no Kraft Dinner in the states? At least that's what you seem to be implying. Is this really the case?

Thank you kind sir.

It's called Kraft Macaroni and Cheese on the box. Same thing different name AFAIK.

It is actually has "Macaroni and Cheese Dinner" on the box, but the Dinner is in small type so maybe it doesn't count.

I'm Canadian.

Kraft Dinner is gross. Everyone I know likes it though, and my mom used to make it when we were kids and I was forced to eat it. My brother & sister would mix in ketchup. I would put in so much soy sauce that I couldn't taste it, just to get it down.
