All blow but no suck. Good or bad?

Hi all,

I currently have 3 80mm fans in my casing. One at the top of the casing blowing out and 2 blowing to the PCI slots at the side of the casing. I'll add another fan to blow out at the back of my casing as well today.

Question is, will the airflow be improved if I were to change the direction of the 2 side mounted fans to blow out instead of blowing in? Will there be enough air coming into the casing then?

Hope my question is not too garbled...

TIA.

I would hazard a guess and say that there would be negative pressuure in your case, and it wouldn't do much good. However, the only way you can know is if you try it, although I'm willing to bet it will be better if you keep it how it is.

How would negative pressure affect the system casing?

it wouldn't have any effect at all other than that air would be drawn in through vents/holes/cracks etc. Its not necessarily a *bad* thing, but its better to have pretty close to equal pressure in the case so the airflow is optimized.

I've read somewhere that it's somehow better to have positive airflow; meaning more air going out of the casing than in. Is that true? I forgot where I read it though :(
