Hendrix definetly

i think the DMB version is pretty good - though i have never heard the hendrix or dylan versions, so i cannot make a comparison.

Dylan is the best song writer that has ever lived.

Too bad he is one of the worst singers that has ever lived.

Considering that I'm asking whether you prefer Dylan or Hendrix, I'd say I'm missing nothing but your mom. God, I do miss her, too.

No, he is not.

Hendrix is the endthread on this song.

I guess its only fair for him to knock a cover beyond its original artist. I mean, Stevie Ray Vaughn totally owned Little Wing.

I will throw Billy Joel up there as the best songwriter.

I would have to disagree and say my personal favorite pick for best songwriter is the one, the only, Bernie Taupin.

I'm not sure if Dylan is the best, but he's definitely up there. But he is definitely a terrible, terrible singer. Hendrix mastered this song on a level that no one can match.

Definitely Hendrix.

Kudos to Dylan for writing it, but Hendrix really let the song shine.

Heck, Dylan even retooled his performance of it after Hendrix's rendition became popular:
"Released as a single, it was an immediate hit?the only US Top 40 single Hendrix would release in his lifetime. Dylan's subsequent live performances of Watchtower also used an electric guitar, like most of Dylan's contemporary live performances do."
