How did so many not-rock folks get into the HoF? Their music may be good but it ain't rock.

It's like asking how so many blatant cheaters and not-terribly-good baseball players made into the HOF during the earliest years of its existence.

Tupac Shakur over Santana?
Prince over David Bowie?
Bob Seger over Peter Gabriel?
Elton John over Lou Reed?

OMG, I'm crying with laughter...

Well I agree with Bob Seger for obvious reasons, but the rest are laughable, yes.

It's done by the public voting. Blame the public I guess heck the Moody blues should've been in back th 90s imo. And they just got inducted but Bon Jovi was a head of them, in the count wtf Bon Jovi???

Admission is voted on by prior inductees and a board.

And only old hippies listen to the Moody Blues.

Here's the problem with Nirvana at #8 too... Unlike all the bands ahead of them, they didn't really blaze a new trail of music per se. There were LOTS of bands doing the same type of music at the time (and before) them for that matter. They just happen to hit on a commercial hit and the rest is history. Does that make them a trail blazer?
