AMD has dis-continued all production of all 1500+, 1600+ and 1700+ processors and is only making 1800+ now. This means no more 1700+ T-Bred's ;)

So those of you who got the 1700+ JIUHB's, they will be rare soon ;)

guess they realized all 1700+ can be oc'ed to 2400+....

well as long as they dont start charging 2400+ prices, although they might need to considering they are on the verge of bankruptcy

AMD probably is still making 1700's..... they are just now known as 2800's :) :)

On the bright side, the 2100+ T-Bred is still being made ;)

Interesting since AMD just switched to T-Bred B 1600+'s and are producing them from my sources at AMD....

So where the heck did you hear they were killing the line?

I thought the XP1500 had been killed long ago! ,haven't seen them in sale for many, many months.
Haven't seen any XP1600s for a while either.
I've noticed the XP1700 getting rarer but its still available atm

There is still pricing on the AMD website for 1700+... none for the others although. I thought the 1500/1600 were discontinued anyways...

The two above got it.

The 1700+ isn't discontinued, however teh 1500+/1600+ have been, but they've been gone for a while now. They are still available for the mobile market. EVen the 1400+ is still available for that matter.

It doesn't matter. If they stop making 1700's, 1800's will fill that price point and we'll all start buying them instead. No big deal really...

1700+'s are discontinued. Three stores i've contacted (mwave, vibecomputers and dangeo) both have said that they will not be getting anyone 1700+ t-bred (b)'s in due to them being discontinued. Also, newegg doesn't have any 1700+ t-bred (b)'s either, that's why they sell the t-bred (A). So I guess I should correct myself. AMD is still making 1600+ and 1700+, but they will be the T-Bred A. It's pretty recent though, so there is still alot of stock left. I mean, the 1600+ palimino's were discontinued like 3 months ago and there is still lots of them around.... but 1700+ T-Bred (B) is getting discontinued. If you dont believe me then find a store that doesnt have it in stock and email them and ask them when they will get more in. They will tell you that they arent, or that there is no ETA.

,you maybe right about AMD but we will always need both CPU companies ,should one of them fall CPU prices would no doubt go through the roof.Btw whilst PIII's are extortionally priced the mid & high end P4's are well priced when compared to similar XPs
