Aligning print cartridges. grrrrr

I have an old desjet 600c, but I bought one of those remanufactured print cartridges. In any case, it does not work and the manufacture is telling me to align the cartridge. Anyone know where I can find the program that performs this function? I no longer have the cds/disks that came with the printer and HP's website does not have any software for my specific printer. 🙁
 
I thought that type of thing was embedded in the print drivers for HP printers.
