Alienware OptXTM AW2310 3D vs other 120Hz monitors

I was reading reviews of various 120Hz monitors, and it seems they all suck, bleeding light, crap colors, worse quality than cheaper TN monitors, etc (did they decide to get crappier panels or something?)... I also read that the Alienware AW2310 sucks less than the others, but it is also more expensive.

So, if I say ok, I will spend 400$ on a monitor, should I get the Alienware one, or get one of the newer 3D monitors that support HDMI 1.4 3D standard?

A related question: Say I get a 3D movie like Avatar on BluRay - will that work with nVidia shutter glasses and any 3D 120Hz monitor?
