Alienware Laptop ram upgrade?

I bought a Area-51m model: 766 a year ago with 512mb pc3200 ram. My friend runs a small hardware store and I wanted to see if I could upgrade my ram. I got 2 Kingmax 512MB DDR333 SODIMMs and hoped to upgrade my ram from 512 to 1gb. Unfortunately, it didn't work. Anyone know why the DDR333s didnt work and what type of ram I need to get?

My laptop uses Apacer RAM (Alienware uses it I mean):

PC3200
184pin DIMM, 200pin SODIMM
128MB/256MB/512MB <--- I have two 256MB
x64bit, x72bit, TSOP
2.5V CL3

and I tried installing Kingmax RAM: http://www.kingmax.com/product/tinybga_so.htm

www.Crucial.com memory selector if you're not 100% certain of what to buy.

Sounds like you bought RAM that is too slow (333 instead of 400), you _might_ be able to get it to work (at a slow speed) by going into the BIOS and adjust for the slower FSB.
