I know it's about alienware.

But I"m saying Quad SLI was supposedly restricted to PC builders like dell and alienware and falcon and whatnot

i think they are inflating prices due to the consumers not being able to get the quad sli cards ourselves..

hehehehehe
So true.

That's the reason this junk is inflated because the dual core g71's won't be available individually though Nvidia has talked about releasing a ONE GIG GTX (not dual core though!)

Thats news to me.

So if I wanted to build a Quad SLI rig I couldnt just buy teh parts off newegg and build one?

Reason?

No mobos support it?

Quad SLI cards are somehow different from regualr ones?

GPU: quad 7900(GT or GTX??)---------------------------4x$300($1200)

I believe Quad-SLI 7900's will be running at reduced clockspeeds (430/1200???)...I can't remember where I read it or what the clocks were (even though i just read it a few hours ago). So technically, the Quad-SLI 7900's are neither the GT nor the GTX variants. I guess it's to avoid heating issues.

hmm, that's interesting. sounds right about the heating issues too....4 7900's near each other isn't a good cooling solution :p
