Alienware Aurora ALX with QUAD SLI

anyone can get a bad ass rig, just depends on the time they want to put in for it. you'll be paying loans while in college if you hit a system like this in your post senior summer season.

but like the other guy said, "money to burn"
 
This may sound ridiculous, but considering it's from Alienware it is going for pretty cheap, I was thinking it would be closer to ten grand.

Still would not go near it though, unless someone bought it for me. What's the name of that long lost rich uncle of mine again.......?

i would've said i agreed but after looking what it comes with...not really.

and that's with a $900 sound system...i'm not buying that but still, they're making $3000

Guess Adding Ram and any 30 inch monitor will easily take it above 10 grand.

I just keep getting the feeling that pretty soon someones gonna come up with one single card which performs better than a quad solution.
 
Looks as if the GPUs are 7900gt, I have no idea how you could fit four 7900gtx in a normal case. It would also feature the first four slot graphics card (that I know about anyway)
 
Hmmm, good points guys, I mean 1 gig of RAM on that thing...WTF??

I priced out a similarly configured Quad-SLI pc on Falcon NW Falcon NW and it came out to about $1,000 less with a better warranty 😕
 
Which brings up the question. At a high level what would this cost if build using individual parts from Newegg, zzf or any other store.

also any guesses what teh 3dmark 05 on this beast would be like?

Im betting you could save at least $1500 if you bulid it yourself.

Since coming here I keep getting the feeling that buying any branded PC is just paying too much for commodity stuff that is handed out to you. Maybe its good for corporations where u dont have to worry abt warranty and all that but for home users Build your own PC seems to be the only way to get it done right.

anyone else shares the thought?

i forgot to add a case....let's just say it miraculously somehow costs $436 to make the Total an even $4500...they're still making hella money off this system
 
However much Alienware does their video cooling, I still think the 4 video cards in that close proximity would cause massive heat issues. I think I'd rather go to college instead of getting technology that will be phased out within months.
 
I thought that Quad SLI will not be available to the public to purchase the videocards

and that you can only get quad sli through alienware/dell etc

explains the finlation 😛

QFT, this is brand new tech and everyone knows how pricey things are when they just come out, not to mention issues that come with it as well. And how much perfromance increase would there ACTUALLY be over 2 cards? extra 30%?
