Exactly. These systems are great for the people with little time, lots-o-cash, and little interest in BYO (Build Your Own) systems.

That ain't me...... 🙂 I just built a high-end C2D system for a friend for under $2000 (no SLI, only an E6400). That friend was looking at Northwest, Alienware, and such...and I convinced him I could do it for about 1/2 - 2/3(max) the cost. I was right, and he is happy.

...but as I said...if you've lots-o-cash, little time, ..etc.... 🙂 🙂

A much needed replacement. Can that machine even connect to AT without massive lag?

Of course it can't, that CPU is horrible - it isn't even dualcore.
