Hello,

I would like the group’s sage advice on purchasing a new gaming laptop to replace my outdated and on the way out Lenovo Y560. I’ve got good deals on a Cyberpower Fangbook HX7-200 and the 2015 Alienware 17.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? Gaming, internet browsing, monthly trips, home related budget

Fangbook has better graphics memory and is cheaper for the same speed CPU. Concerned with plastic build quality.

Alienware has a good reputation with good quality case and build. Is it worth the wait and money ($340) for the i7 4980 HQ 2.8 ghz? I could use that money for a touch screen upgrade ($150). Alienware 15 has ISP display, same price ($1520); bigger display or ISP?

Thoughts, suggestions?

Regards,
Michael

I'm still rocking a first gen Fangbook that is approaching two years in age here in a couple months.... thing is bulletproof. Still looks great and I've seen no areas wear more than others at all. I would definitely buy one again.

Either way, it sounds like you're gonna have one badass laptop in your hands soon ;)

Since you're going ot be Skyrim, and most likely installing mods, you will need ALL of the Vram you can get. The Fangbook has double what the Alienware has, so I would go for that.
