Aliens vs Predator getting 4-player co-op

VG247 gets some of the multiplayer details on the upcoming Aliens vs Predators game.

The game features not only 18 way mixed and pure species multiplayer but a four-player co-op mode where you and your teammates play as Marines facing off against wave after wave of aliens.

It seems like every FPS/TPS game coming out now features a variation on this multiplayer mode. Halo: ODST is getting Firefight, Uncharted 2 is getting Gold Rush, etc. Not saying this is a bad thing just that it is amazing how quickly this mode has been added to other games.

Of course, to be fair, there was a similar mode in the AvP2 PC game. But it had you joining the opposition side if you were killed.

I definitely welcome horde mode to any game. I am glad they are expanding to more game modes from just the traditional stuff.

Unfortunately depending on when this game comes out it may not stand a chance. I know COD MW2 and maybe Halo ODST will have me playing them for quite a long time online. When COD4 came out that's pretty much the only game I played multiplayer for months.

would've picked this up if it came out sooner, but with MW2 and MAG, I think I'm set until ODST drops far down in price. Bad timing. Was looking forward to this game. Oh well.

Horde is cool, but I have my horde needs filled with W@W and GoW2.
