Alien vs. Predator 2

I was cruising through Rotten TOmatoes to see what movies are coming out this summer.

Then I saw Alien vs. Predator 2.

I had to click the link and see if there is news to prove that it is actually being filmed and not just something "planned". Well, it's actually coming out.

Aug 10, 2007 is the planned release date.

Of course, screenings will go very BAD and it will get pushed out to Oct/Nov.... the movie release gravyard months. I htink those are hte months anyways.

And the link as proof. Just go over to the news section.

Why Hollywood, WHY? <==rhetorical question.

I saw AvP a month or two ago, and it didn't suck nearly as badly as I feared. It wasn't good, but it could have been much much worse.

It was ok until the point the predator crafted the shield and spier from the alien corpse.

Then, it got the suck, badly.

I was surprised too. They actually tried to make a decent plot of it. (atleast to explain why the aliens/predator was on earth and stuff).

I made the mistake of seeing AVP in theaters What a waste of money.

Based on box office numbers, I'm not shocked to see a sequel ... but why doesn't Hollywood realize that this will flop? Apparently they are being secretive about hte plot and other details ... not sure why.

IMDB

I actually enjoyed AVP. It's a standalone story with no real big-name actors/actresses, but it carried my attention well enough. I suspect AVP2 will get better reviews, because people won't have overly lofty expectations as they did with #1.

The sad thing is that there is TONS of good movie material in the comic books. Yet, the refuse to use any of it. Sad, really.

it was a measely 90 minutes.. independence day was 2hrs 33 minutes.

Why don't they understand we want to see Aliens vs Predators vs Colonial Marnies (Aliens not BSG marines) 🙁

Hmmm, rated R? If they actaully hire some decent writers, then maybe, just maybe...

Oh nevermind, it's FOX.

Or maybe it's going to be like Starship Troopers 2... where the gun animations (blinking LEDs attached to the guns) don't match up with the sound effects.
