Actions speak louder than words.

I don;t care what a poltican says, I see what they did and how they voted.

Gov Christie was on CNBC's Squawkbox a couple weeks ago and hammered time and time again that spending must come down. Yes, it's words, but he was unwavering in his arguments.

Yes, we've cut back very hard. Instead of giving everyone a 20% raise, theyll only get 15% this year. And well only hire 100 more people to sit around. And because of all of my hard work, your taxes will go up by 2% instead of 3%! And Ill pay myself a million dollar bonus for being so smart.

New Jersey is fucked.

we can't fix our budget without the government making unpopular cuts and increasing taxes, and as soon as that happens, they get voted out of office.

HAHAHA, paterson. HAHAHA.

Don't laugh at us, please. Last year's budget increased by 15 billion dollars. Instead of trimming waste, medicaid fraud, etc., they're "going to close a lot of the state parks." Purely a political ploy - a bluff. But, they know that everyone's going to be up in arms over it. There are rallies all over the place, petitions, etc. (My local senator is leading one of the rallies/petitions.)

I expect the outcome to be this: "Well, NYers, we tried to cut the budget, but you rallied and wouldn't let us close the parks." Meanwhile, wasting even more money than last year.

he's pretty adamant about not raising taxes.

and i'm all for cuts and fiscal responsibility so it's not unpopular in my book.

If this guy really does it NJ will have to put up with him for another 4 years - 2 months.

I watched the squakbox, too. It's everything I have thought and said in the past. It's refreshing to see a leader of some stature say the same thing.

Evidently NJ has the same problem NY does, which is high taxes literally scaring away business and people. This guy seems to get it. God willing the unions have not reached a critical mass in NJ bringing things to the point where he cannot do what has to be done.

no need to point fingers christie, just do your thing. you've got my support.

Nj is like a microcosm of the national scene. Im sure his critics will come at him as unfairly as they blame Obama, and he may have as little success fighting the entrenched powers as the president has. If anything, Nj may be more messed up than the feds. G/l to him anyways.
