Aliases on a CD-ROM

If any of you have come across an MSDN CD for Windows 2000 'versions', you'll notice that there are three variable installes on the CD: Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2000 Server, and Windows 2000 Advanced Server. Each of these folders add up to far more than any CD-ROM can hold while the directory structure as it appeares to the users is seamless.. So there clearly is some sort of file redirectors that point from the different folders to some generic files. (Such being the case commonly in *nix enviroments)

Anyone have a clue as to how the end user can create a disk so 'elegant'?
