I just saw Alias tonite. What is the NSC and how come they have power over the CIA?

Definitely executive branch, but I don't know much after that.

All I can tell you is that NSC resolution 68 created the military industrial complex of the Cold War. (AP US History got kinda blurry the year after I took it, and now it's been a few years, and it's damn-near blank.)
