I like Maya since that's what I learned in school. I hear they're both similar nowadays. Didn't Discreet buy out Alias recently?

Maya is used more for sure by college students.

Since Autodesk makes 3D Sudio, we can see future merging of programs, if for now they say that they plan to develop separately.

Its the $ game, a solid monopoly in 3D imagery with no serious competitors.
