Saw it on HBO last night. The movie was pretty decent than what everyone said it to be. The presentation of the war scenes were the best I've seen in any other greek age war movie. The only thing that probably made the movie horrible was castin Colin Farrell to play Alexander. Wow whoever did that needs to be shot. Oh and Val Kilmer shouldn't have turned down the roll to play the taxi driver in Collateral for this movie. His roll was very minimal. Angelina Jolie did very well as usuall.

opinions?

I actually couldnt stand watching any of it. I watched probably 15 minutes of it on and off. btw, if the lead was horribly cast, how do you come to the conclusion that the movie was pretty decent?

Because thats the only thing that made the movie just decent. IF they had a better cast for Alexander the movie would be great. How are they going to cast Val Kilmer, Angelina Jolie, Anthony Hopkins for their small rolls then Cast a an mediocre Irish actor to play the main roll. If I look past that this was a pretty good movie.

The movie was absolutely horrible. I can understand %100 why people did not like it ... what I'm confused about is that you actually DID like it ...

Colin Ferrel looked more worried and upset than I'd expect a world conquerer to look.

However, Val Kilmer's portrayal of Phillip (whether its historically accurate or not I don't know) was excellent

In contrast Rosario Dawson was unnecessarily cast...

Yea, Val Kilmer is a very good actor. Maybe Top 15.

Too long and really bad. The movie's only saving grace was its cinematography and brilliant score by Vangelis.

I just saw it last night. Definitely worth watching, but also a big disappointment. I can't believe they skipped over several very important battles and sieges for the sake of all that ridiculous fluff. Instead of historical fact and his military development (arguably the most important part of his life), they focused on every questionable theory ever raised about the man. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since it was Oliver Stone. They didn't even mention Chaeronea!

Actually, the more I think about it, it sucked.

The only reason she was cast was for her tig bitties.
