Alex Zanardi wins first race since losing legs

Did you take that from the Vortex? 😛

You guys should definately check out his book "My Sweetest Victory" by Alex Zanardi.

Even if your not into racing, it's still a great book to read about a geniunely nice man with a big heart and a strong will. It's a great & uplifting story. Well written too!

And if you are a racing fan, its even better since it has inside info on various racing series including all the BS present in F1.

OSCHERSLEBEN, Germany (AP) - Alex Zanardi won his first race Sunday since losing both legs in an accident in Germany in 2001.

Zanardi captured the seventh race of the world touring cars championships in his BMW 320i.

The former Formula One driver and two-time CART champion lost both legs in a collision during a CART race on Sept. 15, 2001. He walks and drives with the help of two prostheses.

That's impressive!

I thought that the "race" was meaning a "running" race and I was like....NO WAY. Cars though...bit different.

*EDIT* - Watched the video...it's a miracle he even survived that crash - a testament to the engineering those cars go through to keep drivers safe.
