alert mod button?

I like the idea, but it's been shot down here before. The fear is that too many people would abuse it for posts that may not need moderation.

It would make sense to have one if we actually had firm rules set in stone. Then everyone would know exactly what is and isn't acceptable.

We have the ability to enable this feature, but have chosen not to do so. A few years ago we did enable the feature for a short time and our inboxs (both email and PM) were flooded. At the time, as with now, we did not have the time to deal with the massive amounts of alerts we were receiving. As has always been 'policy' around here, we ask that members simply PM the AnandTech Moderator account with any inappropriate posts and/or subject matter.

And when doing so, it helps IMMENSELY to add links , quotes and time stamps. We aren't all in the same time zone or set to see the same number of threads per page.

Adding AnandTech Moderator to your buddy list makes it very simple and acts as kind of a single click to do so. 🙂 Not that i'd know or anything...
