I'm deciding between a 1998 Mazda 626 LX (2.0L I4, 47,92 Miles) and a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero GLS (3.4L V6, 33.187 Miles). These are of course local used car listings, so my choices of brand + model ...etc...... are limited. I must have a car around the $7000 or less price level.
My first priority is reliability, and from my understanding of cars, Japanese rule all in reliability. I would also like some power though and the Alero looked decent. The mazda is older with more miles and the Olds is newer with lower milage. They both cost $6,995.00.
Ok, long story short, ... I'm going to drive from Miami to LA (moving there. Towing a small trailer behind me with my junk in it) and I highly doubt my current car can make it or be realiable in the long run after this drive. (91 Geo Prizm, 51k miles...)
Any advice?
