B-b-b-buh buh buh BUT when they're holding up a line of 10+ smog producing cars forcing everyone to go 10mph while they furiously pedal uphill it ain't hindering nobody either.

You guys need to get over yourselves. These hybrid-drivin leotard-wearin bicyclists know better than all of us. They just FEEL so much that they aren't hinderin nobody. And even if they are it's ok cause ENVIRONMENT.

Dave, Baldwin is a 1%er, surely you must be overjoyed about his arrest. Oh wait, he's a staunch liberal, never mind.

Does it matter?

Here is the law, since you appear to be quite confused: (NYS Vehicle and Traffic Laws):

Article 34:
§ 1231. Traffic laws apply to persons riding bicycles or skating or gliding on in-line skates. Every person riding a bicycle or skating or gliding on in-line skates upon a roadway shall be granted all of the rights and shall be subject to all of the duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle by this title, except as to special regulations in this article and except as to those provisions of this title which by their nature can have no application.
Article 25:
§ 1127. One-way roadways and and circular intersections. (a) Upon a roadway designated and signposted for one-way traffic, a vehicle shall be driven only in the direction designated.

Please stay off a bicycle, unless you have a death wish. The safest way to ride is with traffic.

Then why do I know and have people that were killed following this clearly wrong law?

Well there you go.

Was that so hard?

Uh go reread this thread you moron. You are the one making the claim about hindering traffic. I never said he was hindering traffic.

Bikers need to carry ID; how DARE you?! That is oppressive and unreasonable!!! Why should people have to constantly carry ID with them!?

Well, what about your stance on Voter IDs??

11 years old? I doubt a Cop would write a ticket for a child.

"Generally most traffic laws make sense."

Except when puts your life in danger.

And I doubt a school district would go after their IT person for excessive amounts of money and criminal charges for installing Distributed.net on their computers, but it happened, as you know.

There were two cops, one a huge ass who wanted to write me the ticket, another who was a really nice guy and had been my DARE officer who talked him out of it. I thought it was BS because I had been riding in the grass, but hit a mud puddle and lost control, which put me on the road. But I was operating a vehicle on a right of way, in a way that was against the law and caused an accident, they would've had every right to write me a ticket. Although giving an 11 year-old a ticket after they just got hit by a car would be pretty crappy.

As for riding with traffic, I already explained why it is much safer than riding against traffic. I am sorry that you think you are smarter than everyone else in the world, but you really aren't.
