Do you have proof he hindered flow of traffic?

So you're saying traffic laws should be taken only as suggestions and you shouldn't follow them if you don't think you'll cause a wreck.

What a fuckimg moron. I hope I plow into you while you're riding your bike the wrong way down the road.

He wasn't arrested for riding his bike on the wrong side, he was arrested for being a dick to the cops. Cops are dicks for the most part but I hate bikers riding on the wrong side.

Correct - he was sited for riding his bike the wrong fucking way. And, then, being that he is an asshole, decided to throw a bitch fit - which resulted in his arrest for disorderly conduct.

This turd deserved everything he got. He is a fat disgusting animal.

WRONG, he was arrested for failing to produce ID, he became disorderly because he was being arrested for not having ID.

He was arrested for failing to produce ID, yes. But not only for failure to produce ID. He was being issued a summons for his illegal direction of travel on his bike first, and under NYS law, you have to identify yourself (and potentially have your identity verified) if you were being issued a summons. And then potentially being a jerk (disorderly conduct) was certainly going to ensure his arrest.

You make it sound like he was stopped for no reason and arrested for having no ID on him.

Bicyclists in my state have fought this tooth and nail.

They want preferential use of the road, no tags, no insurance, no ID, no repercussions. Thankfully they're losing the battle.

It's not that hard to cary ID. But, then again, this is about some idiot not even respecting the flow of traffic.

Like usual, you have no clue. What you state wasn't the issue at all. He was doing something illegal when he was pulled over. If he was pulled aside for doing nothing illegal, then he might have a claim of improper arrest.

Yes, you are claiming he hindered traffic.

Where is your proof?

Do you have video evidence that his going opposite car traffic caused a problem with traffic flow?

This may shock you but breaking the law isn't dependent on whether or not it hinders others ability while breaking it.

This is the street bicyclist's mantra. As they blaze through red lights and bunny hop on sidewalks, knocking granny into the grass while screaming about how they ain't hindering nobody.

I have 0 sympathy for any bicyclist getting a ticket. Baldwin or a leotard wearing olympic training wanna be lance armstrong. They all act the same.

You didn't answer the question.

Did he hinder traffic?

Do you have proof he hindered traffic?

I answered the question. It doesn't matter if he hindered traffic at the time of the incident. He broke the law and was written a ticket for it.

Doesn't matter whether or not he hindered traffic, the fact of the matter he was heading the wrong way on a one way street which is in violation of NY State traffic laws. He was stopped for doing so, didn't show he ID which is required when issuing a summons for violation of traffic laws, he acted a fool and was arrested..................end of story!!!

Good police story of the day!!!!!

Same guy that got kicked off an airplane because he didn't think FAA laws should apply to him and the FAs were singling him out. Life must so be hard for him.

BTW Dave, when I was 11 I was hit by a van when I was riding my bike the wrong way in the right of way next to the street. The accident was ruled my fault and one of the officers wanted to give me a ticket, luckily the other one talked him out of it. When you are riding with traffic cars can slow down and pass you when it is safe. When you are riding head on, they have no choice when they pass. Generally most traffic laws make sense.

11 years old? I doubt a Cop would write a ticket for a child.

"Generally most traffic laws make sense."

Except when puts your life in danger.

Here is the law, since you appear to be quite confused: (NYS Vehicle and Traffic Laws):

Article 34:
§ 1231. Traffic laws apply to persons riding bicycles or skating or gliding on in-line skates. Every person riding a bicycle or skating or gliding on in-line skates upon a roadway shall be granted all of the rights and shall be subject to all of the duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle by this title, except as to special regulations in this article and except as to those provisions of this title which by their nature can have no application.
Article 25:
§ 1127. One-way roadways and and circular intersections. (a) Upon a roadway designated and signposted for one-way traffic, a vehicle shall be driven only in the direction designated.

You go ahead and get killed by a car hitting you from behind, I'll still be an alive Moron.

Please stay off a bicycle, unless you have a death wish. The safest way to ride is with traffic.

We live in a country where children younger are being arrested. So I can see an 11 year old getting a ticket.
