Hey is the proof on alcohol double or half? Like, is 20 proof 40% alcohol or 10?

Yes to get alcohol % halve the proof value... I believe the term proof came from the olden days and had something do with pouring alchohol on gun powder... I can't remember the whole story though... gonna do the google dance

Well, when I try to divde 0% in to 0 proof, I'm getting a dividing error. Someone mind just taking a drink and telling us?
