Alcohol on processor pins

Hey everyone. I pulled a 2.4GHz P4 out of a dead Dell Dimension 4600c. I cleaned the thermal compound off of the heatsink with a dust/lint-free cloth and some isopropyl alcohol. I did the same to the top of the processor so I could apply new layers of Arctic Silver 5 to both components. While cleaning the compound off the processor, a bit of the alcohol dripped down the side, and onto the pin area (there was some alcohol around 4 or five of the pins). Of course I'm not going to put it back in the computer and boot up immediately, but will I be okay, as long as I give the alcohol ample time to air-dry? Or have I screwed the processor?

100% alcohol will completely evaporate. Even if it is impure, its prob fine too.

lol, welcome to the computer world finally :p

Alcohol does absolutely nothing to hardware. Just let it dry (it should be dry by...now) and you're set.

Alright, that's what I've figured. I've been building PCs for a long time, but never had this happen. Wasn't a ton of alcohol either. Now, I have to find a way to make this heatsink mount work ;)

Thanks for the reassurance guys.

Sh!t I use alcohol all the time to get the thermal paste off stuff. Don't worry about it all all.
